This drama will focus on 13-year-old musical theater fanatic Nate Foster (Ruby Wood) who dreams of performing on stage in New York City. Seventh grader Nate is not like other boys his age, he loves Broadway and its rich history, there is a framed photograph of Bernadette Peters by the boy's bed. He has an older brother, Anthony (Joshua Bassett), who doesn't understand Nate's passion at all. Meanwhile, Nate wants to be in the cast of a new high school rock musical about the life of Abraham Lincoln, but alas, another student has landed the lead role.

His disappointment is shared by a friend and aspiring high school troupe actress named Libby (Aria Brooks). She recently read that there will be an open audition in New York for the musical Lilo & Stitch. She shares this information with Nate and the guys decide to try their hand at this audition and make their dream come true. They pick the perfect moment when Nate's parents (Michelle Federer and Norbert Leo Butz) go on a short weekend getaway and board a bus to take them to New York. But the guys do not even imagine what obstacles they will have to face during the casting on Broadway.

However, Nate and Libby will never give up and will overcome any turmoil as they try to sneak into an audition for an upcoming production. In addition, in New York they will meet Nate's aunt Heidi (Lisa Kudrow), with whom he did not communicate for several years. Once Heidi was a famous actress, but now her acting career has gone downhill. However, she is willing to sacrifice her job to help her nephew, but first of all, she needs to overcome the problems associated with her sister.
